Is Washington Going to the Dogs?
It certainly looks that way. When Senator Edward Kennedy, who is fighting a malignant brain tumor, returned to his Capitol Hill office today, he was accompanied by his wife Victoria and their two Portuguese Water Dogs. I figured dogs in the halls of Congress was news but it appears I'm simply out of the loop; Sunny and Splash are practically lobbyists.

I used to live in DC and would see Ted at the dog park regularly with his Portuguese Water Dogs. He had a tennis racket and would hit balls for them to chase.

Tell us more! Can you name names?
The presence of loyal, level-headed pups on The Hill has to be a good influence. In Washington state, where I live, there are no dogs allowed in state-owned buildings--from the legislature to the University of Washington campus.

I used to work in DC and went to the Hill offices regularly. You'd be surprised how many pups are running around in there!
